INTRODUCTION
Planning
For this assignment I listened to the audio file and wrote out a script detailing the information that I found important. I then drew out a storyboard in according to the script and planned to follow that for the motion graphic. Though a lot of stuff changed and got left out after the final edit. After this I downloaded all of the pictures and videos I thought I would need for the graphic and began to edit them.

PRE-PRODUCTION
Project set up
I searched the internet for the images I thought I’d need and set them up in a folder for editing through photoshop. I then set up another folder so I would have a place to put all the editing images.
Check UI elements
I made sure that all images and videos where the right format to be taken into photoshop and premier pro as I didn’t want to waste time later on trying to convert them.
Preferences
I prefer to work with premier pro over after effects, I’m not entirely sure why since in some ways they are very similar, but I can’t help it.
THE ANIMATION PROCESS
Pose to pose
I edited each frame in photoshop in a terry Gilliam style. This was extremely time consuming and probably would have been faster if I just printed everything off, cut it out and then take each shot. I enjoyed it though and persisted through the hundreds of image files.
Timing
I worked on the timing in premier pro by playing it all back over and over again every time I added a new image or video. This was to make sure that everything was the right time and everything was synced up.
Clean up
This was done in premier pro, it was done by watching the video over and over again to make sure there were no mistakes. If there was a mistake I would then have to fix that and then make sure that everything following it was still in the right sync before moving on.
POST-PRODUCTION
Rendering
Rendering only took a few seconds because I rendered it straight from premier pro and did not bring it into blender or anything like that,, uploading however took hours as my internet connection is horrible.
Reflective Analysis
I quite like this 2D work, I love working with a stop – start style. I tried to keep my motion graphic as close to terry Gilliam’s style as was possible. Since the video was so long (at first I thought five minute was nothing) it took me a long time to edit each picture and video, so I had to change half of what I wanted to be more realistic. I would have loved to have been able to pick an audio file from any podcast but it was great to have the freedom to have so many to pick from on this podcast. There is one or two things I’d change about my motion, being that instead of cropping in a little bit at a time to create a zoom effect I’d like to learn how to actually zoom on premier pro like in after effects.
